After what might have seemed like an especially long winter season in Ohio, Cedar Point, one of Ohio's summer fun destinations is gearing up for warm weather fun. Open Positions at Cedar Point
Applications are being accepted for more than 4,500 open positions and over 50 different jobs at Cedar Point. While all positions involve interaction with guests, some require more interaction than others. Ride Operators interact with guests at the Point while ensuring safe operation of rides. Other open positions include cash handlers with strong math skills, merchandise associates, game operators capable of engaging guests in a friendly enthusiastic manner, sweeps to keep the park clean and safe, security personnel, and office support staff.
Cedar Point Employee Benefits
Pay is bi-weekly, with open positions paying from $7.40 per hour to $9.00 per hour for most positions - with entertainers making a slightly higher wage. College credit is offered for students. Low cost employee housing and a recreation center are available on-site, as well as Internet access. Perks include free admission to Cedar Point and Soak City on days you are not working; but expect to work six days per week.
Working Conditions at Cedar Point
Most jobs at the Point involve exposure to Sandusky, Ohio's hot, humid summer weather. Also included; working outside when it is raining. Employees in most positions are expected to wear uniforms, and meeting grooming guidelines is a must. Expect to meet all kinds of people; some friendly and grateful for your assistance and others who are, well, slightly more challenging.
Candidates offered a position should expect to submit to a background check and must present a valid, original social security card. While discounted meals are available for employees, expect to cover 21 days food cost before receiving your first paycheck. Uniforms are provided, and laundry service for the uniforms is free of charge, but you will need to buy your own rain gear if you do not want to get soaked.
