Laure is a freelance writer, as well as Suite101's Social Corporate Responsibility Topic Editor and the Sports, Custom, & Classic Cars Topic Editor.
She has varied technical skills and interests. As a freelance writer, she enjoys having the opportunity to write about interesting and varied topics. Laure is also fortunate enough to have the insight that comes from living a life filled with a wide-range of experiences - with experience being converted into fuel for writing.
Running a small upholstery shop for several years - where she specialized in customizing street rod interiors - provided both experience and insight into the world of small business. She has worked in local factories at the laborer, quality control, and management levels - as well as in retail and food service - bringing customer relations experience into the mix of her experience base.
As a lifelong writer and avid reader, Laure decided go to college after spending a few years in the work force and finding she wanted to be able to contribute more than she was able to accomplish without a degree. Her college education was focused in the area of business - with a minor in global business.
Laure began freelance writing after receiving her degree in Business Administration, and has written for a travel website, blogs, and several other websites. Laure can be reached by clicking the small green email envelope icon under "My Details" on the upper right hand side of the page.
In addition to writing for Suite101, Laure+ currently manages the website, Stitching it Right, where she features fashion sewing as well as upholstery sewing information. In addition to her website she maintains the blogs, Ethics Buzz and Ohio, Frac, and the Environment, that reflect her focus on corporate social responsibility and the environmental effects of fracking brine in Ohio.
